Welcome to my DAM Blog!
Hi I'm David A. Monroe -- The DAM Imagist.
I've been a professional commercial photographer for more than 25 years, a teacher and a mentor. I've been actively involved in improving the art of photography through many organizations; most recently having served as President and Vice President of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) for Central Florida. I continue to maintain an active membership with the group as a Board Member as well as being an advisor to schools in the area.
I enjoy working as an IMAGIST, building and creating images vs. simply taking pictures; and constantly honing the craft of photography through my own personal projects.
I believe we should always bring our best creative edge to everything we do; if it's worth hauling all that gear out there, it's worth doing it right--from the start!

Fall, the Smokey Mountains and the changing of the leaves,Fantastic!
No matter how many times I visit this area I am amased at how the years and times I visit give me a different preview of this land. I mainly stayed in the Gatlinburg area focusing on Cades Cove to the south west and the Little Pigeon River just to the north of town. I focused on Video this trip but here are a few images of what I was surrounded by. Wildlife Galore and breathtaking views painted by the master himself.
